Frequently Asked Questions
How do I verify a record independently?
Download the reviewer kit from the Downloads page. Use the verify script with the record payload and signature. All checks run locally against the published authority public key.
What does V2 Verified mean?
A V2 Verified record has passed all four verification checks: schema validation, integrity (hash match), consistency (boundary match), and authority (Ed25519 signature valid).
Can a record be modified after minting?
No. Once minted, records are immutable. Corrections require a new superseding record with a reference to the original.
How are environmental claims bounded?
Claims are explicitly scoped by polygon geometry, observation window, source coverage, and trust tier. No claim extends beyond these boundaries.
What satellite sources does Veritas use?
Veritas integrates Sentinel-1 (SAR), Sentinel-2 (optical), AIS vessel data, and VIIRS fire/confidence data. Additional providers can be configured per scope.
