Terms of Use

Effective date: June 2026 · Last updated: June 30, 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using the Veritas platform ("the platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Platform Purpose

Veritas is a geospatial observation and record verification platform. It enables institutions to define geographic scopes, review environmental signals, and generate cryptographically authenticated records. Veritas preserves verifiable evidence and provenance. It does not claim absolute environmental truth.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify the administrator immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Record Scope

Records generated by Veritas are bounded by their defined polygon geometry, observation window, source coverage, and trust tier. Claims made within a record do not extend beyond these boundaries. Users must not represent records as broader in scope than their documented parameters.

5. Payment

Record minting requires a US$20 fee per record. Payments are processed through Stripe or PayPal. Fees are non-refundable once a record has been minted, as minting produces an immutable registry entry.

6. Intellectual Property

Published records are part of the public registry and may be referenced, cited, and linked to freely. The Veritas platform, methodology, and code remain the intellectual property of the platform operators.

7. Limitation of Liability

Veritas provides records based on available satellite and sensor data. We do not guarantee completeness or accuracy of underlying data sources. Users should independently verify records using the provided reviewer kit before making decisions based on record content.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Published records remain in the registry regardless of account status, as they are immutable once minted.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
